Jack doesn't straighten up further, he doesn't flinch, he doesn't even move his hands. The tails switch restlessly behind him, but that's it. "I'm not going to hurt you," he says calmly, meeting the bird-monster's gaze with no visible fear. He knows how to handle his wolf shape. This may or may not be like that. The fact that he hasn't been actually attacked yet, just threat-displayed at, is encouraging.
