Jack does twitch a little at the surge forward, half-sure he just made a mistake and he's going to get bitten, but he relaxes again when it just turns into pacing around him, letting out a slow breath. "I only smell you and me right now," he offers, unsure if Shadow even understands English right now. He wouldn't, if it were him. But a calm voice does more than the words themselves, usually. "I think we're probably okay. Do you, er. Do you know how to change back?"

The wolf turns back when the sun comes up, without Jack having to do anything, but he has a few ideas... the best idea kind of requires Shadow to understand words, though.
