He stares at her a moment longer. She has sunny blonde hair like his brother's, and eyes like Rem's -- his main two points of reference -- but the way she dresses is completely foreign to him. Still, Rem prepared him for how to talk to humans, didn't she? He swallows down his uneasiness.

"I'm Nai," he says. "Did you wake up? You'll freeze if you stay here."

He doesn't smile back, just clutches his book more tightly to his chest.
