[ jayce cannot see it; only hear the crunch of pebbles and grass under feet as jack nears him. he wouldn't know who would want to touch . . . this, but jayce is a tactile person at heart. touch was a language he was well versed in, and as frightened as he would, he'd allow it if there were no signs of danger.
