Sephiroth didn't bother with things like hopes and dreams. He knew their futility. But he could still support his friends' ideals along those same lines, when possible. He didn't have to have Angeal's deep passion for honor to encourage it, he didn't have to share Genesis' love for theater to go with him to opening nights.

"Currently, reach Nirvana and return to my friends' sides." Simple, straightforward. Terribly unambitious. "If they are here, find them first, before either one decides what's been inflicted on us is a good excuse to cause trouble." Something in his tone suggests he's not thinking of the usual sort of monster trouble in murder and destruction.
