For a moment, Vincent's eyes look away. This time, is a flicker of the guilt that still exists because of that long ago memory. He doesn't know how much this 'other him' has said. Did things happen the same way at all? But if it's been a short time, then probably not much.
He crosses his arms but doesn't try to shift away as Tifa moves closer though. It's just that he can't look her in the eye momentarily.
"It was... a fitting punishment. For my sins and what I couldn't stop. But don't think of it as less or worse than what someone else is going through." The important part is that last, of course. One's tragedy shouldn't be measured by the amount of pain and suffering they experienced by it.
"Hard to say what's a new instinct and what's normal sometimes." But as Tifa adds he's handling it well, Vincent's mood seems to ease a little. He turns his gaze back to her and the cloak collar dips enough to catch a trace of a smile. Fang tips might be glimpsed when he opens his mouth to respond.
"It's a bit annoying. Things had settled for a while." He'd been starting to master control over his other form. "Now I have new things to get accustomed to."
Whether the aggrieved tone is pretense or an honest reflection of his feelings on the matter is uncertain. But it would probably only be shown to people he considers friends; to him, Tifa is one such individual.
